It is the 90th year of ski jumping in Salisbury, CT. It promises to be an exciting month with two big jumping events. It kicks off with Jumpfest on Feb. 12-14 (jumpfest.org) and continues on with the Junior Nationals (jncjn2016.com) on Feb. 23-27.
There will also be a Winter Festival (awinterfestival.com) with many community activities planned from Feb. 12-28 to add to the fun. This is a wonderful opportunity to watch future Olympians fly through the air. In addition to ski jumping, there will be many events happening throughout the region including ice carving, human dog sled races, pancake breakfast, the Snowball Dance, gallery openings and a chili contest.
Don't worry if you don't see snow out your window at home - the snowmaking equipment at Satre Hill will be working overtime to make plenty of snow for the jumps! Grab your cow bell and come cheer on the jumpers!
